Reaching Higher Vibrations

Written by Desiree Leigh Thompson

The way you appear to be right here and right now may be keeping you in a state of low vibration. When you speak of yourself or of others, do you treat yourself or them as what you or they can "potentially" be?  Or, do you treat yourself and them as they "appear" to be?

To go beyond the "appearances," you must look deeply into yours and their eyes and see each one as spiritual beings having a human experience. Now you may be saying, 'not so quickly...' 'how do I do this when I don't see myself as beautiful, whole, and complete?' 'I see myself as un-loveable, unworthy, and non-deserving?' 'I see myself as frustrated, confused, and lost.'

This is something that I struggled with for a very long time. People would tell me 'just do it,' 'just think good thoughts and things will change'. It's the cognitive-behavioral approach. Change your thoughts to change your feelings and actions. This worked for a bit but it didn't last. "Why didn't it last?" My heart was disconnected from my mind. The cognitive-behavioral approach is part of the process for transformation and healing but not the complete process. My body was resisting this concept. I found it to be fake and my mind kept overruling it.

Now don't get me wrong here. Monitoring your thoughts is extremely important. If you've been reading my blogs and ezines, I highly recommend this concept, but... it's not the end all. When you have walls of resistance that won't budge, and that may have occurred from trauma, what do you do then?

My desire for change and healing was great but my physiology was not letting go. There was a lot of incongruity. Think about this concept for a minute. "How can you have lasting change when you only involve the mind disregarding the heart and body?" This sort of approach distances you from your wholeness. Mind-body-heart are all one and must be treated as one.

So, to reach higher vibrations, become aware of your body and what e-motions are being harbored within your body. Remember, e-motions stored in the body are the energy that was, at one time, in motion, but became blocked and stored within your body due to trauma or other significant events. With your awareness, the e-motion can be released. Without your awareness, they remain stored within your body and continue to create dis-ease, whether it is in your physical health, your belief systems, assumptions, limitations, points of view, or your current feelings.

The first step is to 'slow-down.' To move beyond the way we "appear" to be, we must slow down our physiology to become aware of our thoughts and what e-motions are going on in our body. We must create body-awareness through centering. Then we are able to challenge the thoughts coming through because we'll have more awareness on where these false perceptions are coming from. We will challenge them and at the same time begin to see our true "potential." When we don't slow down, we can't hear a thing. When you're moving about quickly, you've got the constant "busy signal" to God. He's calling you, but you're not answering.

To reach those higher vibrations, it's not just about changing your thoughts. To see yourself and others as spiritual beings, it takes deeper work to reveal who you really are, to uncover your heart's desire. You must raise the pain and release it from the body. When the pain from trauma is released, you have much strength in changing your thoughts quickly. You begin to see who you really are, your true heart's desire, because the layers begin to get stripped off. You then have great awareness in seeing a new and limitless way of being.

"But I do not believe that man can perceive his "God-Like" qualities until his field reaches higher and higher vibrations and attains a greater degree of coherency. No matter how hard we try to receive spiritual guidance, we cannot until our fields are attuned to that vibrational system."

~Dr. Valerie Hunt.

Hi I'm the author of the first article and just wanted to connect with you here and say I really liked what you wrote. It's easy to ignore things that are stored in you body. I have been doing a white light meditation for that and find that it works.
